RW Pinotage Oxtail Recipe

Savour the good times with this wine-braised oxtail recipe, best enjoyed with RW Pinotage.


2 Tbsp Olive Oil

750g Oxtail

1 Cup Chopped Carrots

½ Cup Chopped Celery

2 Small Onions, finely chopped

1 Tbsp Crushed Garlic

1 Tin Chopped Tomatoes in Tomato Juice

Handful of Fresh Thyme

1 litre Beef Stock

1 Cup RW Pinotage



Place a pot over medium heat add the olive oil.

Add the oxtail and allow it to brown slightly.

Once browned, remove the oxtail from the pot and set aside.

Meanwhile, sauté the carrots, celery and onions.

Add the garlic and tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the oxtail and fresh thyme to the pot.

Add the beef stock and RW Pinotage, the place the lid on top and allow the oxtail to simmer for 3-4 hours.

Add more stock and/or wine if needed.

Serve with rice and a glass of RW Pinotage
